Frequently Asked Questions

How will I know about Dicey’s upcoming events?

Easy! You can check out the Events page, follow Dicey on social media, and sign up for the Dicey email list.

Do I have to pay for each game I borrow from the game library?

Nope! Depending on the event, you may have to buy a ticket or pay a cover charge but once you’re in the event, everything in the game library is always free to play. Tickets or covers charges will always be announced in advanced.

Can I bring my own games to an event?

Yes! Dicey events are a great way to get your own games to the table and meet new people to play with.

What if I spill something on a game?

We ask that you be careful with our games but if something gets spilled it’s far from the end of the world. Just let us know so we can clean/fix/replace anything that gets damaged.

Can I come by myself or do I need a group?

You absolutely can attend by yourself. Dicey events usually offer “Looking For Games/Players” flags to help you meet up with other folks and get games going. Plenty of people have met new friends through Dicey events.

Do you have games for kids?

Yes. Our event libraries typically include many family-friendly games which are appropriate for younger players, generally 10 years old and up. One important note—most of the games require some amount of reading. We do usually include a small number of “teaching” games like Go Fish and Tic Tac Toe which are great ways to teach young children basic board game mechanics.

How will I know if a game is family-friendly?

This one is a littel tricky to answer as every kid is unique. Ultimately, it’s up to the parent or guardian to determine if a game’s subject material and mechanics are appropriate for their children. Of course, Dicey staffers are happy to work with parents to find suitable games to play.

How do I become a vendor at Dicey events?

The Vendor Inquiries page has all the information on how to join Dicey’s vendor network.

Is Dicey hiring?

Not at this time. Dicey events may include volunteer staff. Calls for volunteers will be put out through event-specific pages.
